An easily accessible 14er, the barren landscape is the result of winds that rip through the valley. Nonetheless, this turned out to be a beautiful, beautiful hike and well worth every minute of it. There was a light dusting of snow in the morning on this particular day and I will definitely be returning to this peak over the years.

One of my favorite captures, I call this "The Path Into". Bierstadt up on the right.
Looking down just as we crossed the snow line. I captured everything over a stop low, thus the graininess and pastel-like colors in these captures.
Still working at least a stop low.
Here is the peak of Bierstadt. Definitely one of the plainest and most barren I've been on (well ... they are all barren ... but this one was especially sparse as we made the final approach).
Here is one of my favorite cairn captures, it would not have been as good (IMHO) without being a stop under. There is something amazingly peaceful and rugged about this shot.
Looking out across the valley.
