  • This reminds me of a shot I took a few years back on Tennessee Pass. What a night.

  • Sometimes the light looks like I've tweaked it or tinted or saturated it ... but here is a shot with my 300mm looking into one of the largest organisms on the planet ... a networked aspen forest. With the sun creeping into the forest and the backlighting, it picks up more green and gold the further it penetrates into the forest. The 300mm serves to flatten the picture and make it appear more two dimensional ...

  • This tree sat alone in the lake. As the sun rose the island and tree took more light on providing this single color capture that is reminiscent of black and white. It is one of my own favorites from the Crested Butte work.

  • To get a picture like this you first have to get the sun to cooperate ... then you have to get the camp dogs to cooperate. One pup insisted on standing in the water wagging and waiting for her owners to throw a ball in for her. Luckily the owners called her up in time for the water to smoother over :)

  • We waited in flat light for about 45 minutes for this picture. Just when we thought the sun had probably avoided us, it dropped below the clouds on the horizon and lit Cinnamon Mountain up providing a breathtaking look through this pond.
