Fall Colors

Coming from Minnesota, I was skeptical about Colorado Fall Colors. There are fewer reds in trees, but so often you find Red Rocks (Roxborough especially) that you can balance out if you are a fan of the reds. On the other hand, when you go into the mountains and look over a valley of aspen trees with the Sun back lighting the aspens ... it doesn't get much better ... anywhere.

    I wanted to take a different look at this "typical" shot of aspens in Fall.  Using the parallax distortion of my wide angle I'm able to get the trees all leaning in with a frame along the top, but almost straighten out the ridge that was probably 50 feet above me (this is looking uphill).

    One of my favorite positions from this year ... here's a secret ... out of 10 shots I took here this is the only one I didn't screw up, I think I bonked my manual focus switch when I was moving around.  I guess we all make mistakes :)  That's the most effective way of learning I hear ;-)
